ALLU Transformer M-Series screening nickel ore in Brazil

An area that has particularly seen the benefits of the ALLU Transformer range has been in surface mining operations. As the Transformer is essentially designed to fit an excavator or loading shovel, this has made the equipment ideal for large scale surface mining operations, where transportability and productivity are essential requirements of material handling equipment.

With many units now working throughout Brazil, supplied through dealer Máquina Solo, one such application has seen the ALLU Transformer M-Series being used at a nickel mine, screening chalcedony directly in the mine, in order to upgrade the nickel concentration on the processed material. This particular model was chosen due to its high mobility and functionality in screening the material in-situ, instead of loading onto trucks, then transporting the material to stationary screening plant, and then re-transporting the material back to where it originally came from. This has meant the company has been able to replace its stationary screening equipment, freeing up resources as well as enjoying greater flexibility in its operations.

“The ALLU Transformer M-Series has proved to be ideal for soft rock surface mining applications in Brazil (and elsewhere) as it can easily handle in ‘one-step’ any materials within its range. It can screen any type of material, and by applying the correct amount of crushing force together with the correct drum type, the attachment also efficiently separates hard unwanted waste materials in the rock mass, while crushing the soft material. By adapting to the processing needs and rock mass it encounters, the attachment boosts productivity, through delivering operational efficiency.”

“Different drum configurations of 50 mm and 75 mm mean differing fragment sizes may be processed with high productivity in ‘one step’. The entire process is fully mobile, and can replace conventional crushing and screening plants in many cases such has been found in Brazil.”

ALLU TS: Bark meets bite

ALLU TS

By repositioning standard screening blades, the new TS drum assembly, by ALLU, allows customers to achieve flexibility in performing multiple jobs with one unit.

The patented drum assembly is manufactured for existing ALLU D-Series material processor bucket frames.

The TS drum assembly wasn’t designed specifically for mulching bark.  The versatile tool allows its user to screen, crush, shred and mix materials.  However, during testing at ALLU’s office in Finland, the drum assembly proved effective in screening field bark.

Compared to a mobile crushing plant, the TS generated higher quality material without including additional debris.

The TS blades have also been used to create compost from leaves and branches, screen topsoil, as well as crush green waste, gypsum and demolition waste – just by changing out the blades and repositioning the screening combs.

Blade configuration is key to ALLU tech

The core of the ALLU TS technology is the configuration of the screening blades that spin between the screening combs. The end product size is defined by the space between the combs. As well, different fragment sizes can be achieved simply by repositioning the combs.

As the screening combs carry most of the material weight, the drums and bearings experience less impact and load. The design of the assembly ensures the machine works well in wet and dry materials without clogging.

The TS drums are available with two different blade types: standard blades for screening applications. Also, axe blades when a crushing or shredding effect is required.

Available blade sizes include 16/32 mm, 25/50 mm and 35 mm.

The TS assembly is available in seven different models for 16- to 45-metric ton excavators and 7- to 30-metric ton wheel loaders.

ALLU Offers New Drum Assembly

ALLU introduced the patented ALLU TS drum assembly construction, which allows customers to achieve flexibility in performing multiple jobs with one unit, just by repositioning the standard screening blades.

The end product size is defined by the space between the combs, and different fragment sizes can be achieved simply by repositioning the combs. Because the screening combs carry most of the material weight, the drums and bearings experience less impact and load. The design of the assembly ensures the machine works well in wet and dry materials without clogging.

The TS drums are available with two different blade types: standard blades for screening applications and axe blades when a crushing or shredding effect is required. Blade sizes available include 0.63/1.26 in. (16/32 mm), 0.98/1.97 in. (25/50 mm) and 1.38 in. (35 mm). The TS assembly is available in seven different models for 17.6- to 49.6-ton (16- to 45-metric ton) excavators and 7.7- to 33-ton (7- to 30-metric ton) wheel loaders.

Allu host successful factory tour for North American dealer

Allu factory tour

Tuesday, June 27, 2017 – 10:50

Event in Finland allows distributors ECA to see the company’s manufacturing operation and world-class facilities at first hand

EQUIPMENT attachment specialists Allu recently hosted a factory tour and demonstration event in Finland for their North American distributors, Equipment Corporation of America (ECA).

With nine facilities located in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Washington, DC and Toronto, ECA are able to supply a portfolio of specialist equipment designed to meet the very specific needs of their customers.

In order to provide more advanced equipment solutions, ECA expanded their offering to drilling and pile driving contractors by supplying the PMX power mixer and PF pressure feeder soil stabilization systems from Allu. The agreement gives ECA exclusive rights to sell and rent these systems in the eastern US and eastern Canadian provinces.

The products, which includes pressure feeders, power mixers, control systems and 3D positioning systems, are designed for use on excavators to provide mass stabilization of low-quality soil.

‘Having ECA as our stabilization equipment distributor will provide end-users with the best service in the industry, specialized knowledge and the finest equipment for soil stabilization and remediation,’ said Edgar Chavez, president of Allu North America. ‘ECA and Allu share the same values when it comes to business ethics, customer satisfaction and retention, so this is an excellent partnership and we are excited to work with ECA as our long-term partner.’

Leading members of the ECA management team embarked on a visit to Finland to see how the Allu equipment is manufactured at first hand.

‘Although their schedule was busy, and their stay short, we were delighted to host our colleagues from ECA,’ said Marjut Lindroos marketing manager for Allu. ‘During our factory tour we were able to show ECA that the Allu equipment is manufactured to the very highest standards.’
