Five Star Equipment Supplies ALLU Transformer to Scotts Miracle-Gro

Scotts Miracle-Gro’s ALLU DH-4-23-40 attachment for its 20-ton (18 t) wheel loader enables the company to screen, crush, mix and load materials in one step during the production of mulch, topsoil, manufactured soil, soil starter and potting mix.
Scotts Miracle-Gro’s ALLU DH-4-23-40 attachment for its 20-ton (18 t) wheel loader enables the company to screen, crush, mix and load materials in one step during the production of mulch, topsoil, manufactured soil, soil starter and potting mix.

Scotts Miracle-Gro recently took delivery of and received training on an ALLU transformer material processing attachment at its brand new Riga, N.Y., facility. The company purchased the ALLU DH-4-23-40 attachment for its 20-ton (18 t) wheel loader to screen, crush, mix and load materials in one step during the production of mulch, topsoil, manufactured soil, soil starter and potting mix.

The ALLU unit not only eliminates the need for costly stationary screening and pulverizing machinery, but it also reduces labor, fuel and maintenance costs due to its versatility, portability and efficiency. Additionally, this winter, the ALLU transformer proved to be beneficial in pulverizing frozen piles of mulch that the facility stores outside, rendering the material more pliable so that it flows freely through indoor conveyor systems that sort, size and bag the product.

This is the second ALLU unit purchased by Marysville, Ohio-based Scotts Miracle-Gro, which has numerous production facilities across the United States. The unit was sold and will be serviced by ALLU Inc.’s dealer Five Star Equipment from its Rochester, N.Y., facility. ALLU Inc. is based in East Brunswick, N.J.

Efficient materials processing with new ALLU system

ALLU is now offering its highly efficient Transformer hydraulic attachment, which can be fitted to excavators, wheeled loaders or high-performance skid steer loaders. Said to be efficient, versatile and productive the unit can be used to crush, pulverise, screen, aerate, blend, mix, separate and load materials onsite. Highly versatile, the unit can process a very wide array of materials including construction debris, topsoil, excavated soil and contaminated soil, clay, peat, bark, compost, bio-waste, mille

Highly versatile, the unit can process a very wide array of materials including construction debris, topsoil, excavated soil and contaminated soil, clay, peat, bark, compost, bio-waste, milled asphalt, coal, oil shale and limestone. However, matching material and application to the most suitable ALLU Transformer model can be a complicated task. There are many parameters to consider such as the size of the excavator/loading shovel, tonnage to be dealt with, required product size and the end use of the transformed material amongst many other factors.

As a result, the firm is also offering its new product selector tool. This can be accessed through a portal available on the ALLU website and allows customers to match a base machine to the material they wish to process. When combined with the area of work, this will match the specific application to the most suitable ALLU Transformer.

ALLU Group Inc. Joins Pipe Line Contractors Association

ALLU Group Inc., based in East Brunswick, N.J., recently became a member of the Pipe Line Contractors Association (PLCA). Based in Dallas, the PLCA has been a voice for the pipeline industry for 70 years. ALLU Transformer material processor attachments have proven themselves to be effective tools for pipeline padding and backfilling applications.

ALLU has developed its D-Series attachments and TS Drum assembly with pipeline padding in mind. The attachments work with excavators to screen the excavated soil onsite and then backfill it directly into the pipeline trench in one stage. Because it eliminates the need for dedicated stationary screening or purchase of fine soil, it increases the profitability and efficiency of pipeline construction operations.

Straight side plate construction makes the ALLU D-Series easy to fill and able to hold a greater volume of material, while patented fender plates protect bearings and seals from extreme pipeline conditions. The standard power adjustment valve promotes powerful startup and bi-directional rotation, as it also prevents overloads. Hydraulics are located on the back of the attachment, protecting them from damage.

The core of the TS Drum Assembly technology is the configuration of the screening blades that spin between the screening combs. End product size is defined by the space between the combs, and different fragment sizes can be achieved simply by repositioning the combs. Because the screening combs carry most of the material weight, the drums and bearings experience less impact and load. The design of the assembly ensures the machine works well in wet and dry materials without clogging.

The Allu App is described as a first-time solution aimed at maximising customers’ investment. The Allu-App is being shown and demonstrated at Intermat, which the company said enabled visitors to see at first-hand how Allu was about much more than the supply of world-leading equipment.

The Allu-App connects the serial number to the relevant data, and provides a description of the product – frame and drums – while it matches base machine – wheeled loader or excavator – to the attachment being used.

It also notes specific applications to the model, and provides access to relevant pictures and videos, as well as a safety guide. Then the app can give links to closest Allu dealer and Allu Finland contact information as well as social media, and enables access to operational and installation guides.

Soil processing

The company said that its Processor range had proved itself on road projects, building developments and various contaminated soil processing applications around the world.

Since the equipment is mobile, companies are able to use it to treat and access low bearing-capacity ground for infrastructure development. It can also be used to remediate contaminated soil by transforming hazardous constituents into a solid state, thereby preventing them from dissolving into the surrounding environment.

Allu’s Transformer Series comprises processing buckets that can be mounted onto excavators, loaders and tractors.

They can screen, pulverise, aerate, blend, mix, separate, even crush, feed and load materials for a range of applications. These include landscaping – from top soil screening to waste and debris processing; earthmoving and demolition – money can be saved by processing excavated soil and rubble on the spot; and mining, quarrying and aggregates – crushing and loading of raw material can be completed in a single cycle.
